moments

Several times a day, we have "moments" around our house...those times when we sigh and look at each other and say something like, "how did we get so lucky?" or "why is this all going so fast?" In case you are wondering, we also have those other moments when one of us says, "when is toddlerhood going to be over?" But this post isn't about THOSE times, it's about those not-so-terrible-twos.
The other day, Sheri said, "Lucy, you are so beautiful!" Lucy replied, "And smart!" So true, and so glad our strategy (some would call it brainwashing) of trying to give positive reinforcement for her mind and not just her looks seems to be working.

Tonight when Lucy was sitting on the potty, she said, "I want some pribacy." Um...wasn't it supposed to be awhile before she hit THAT stage?

Yesterday morning we spent a lot of time in our PJs and Lucy's dress-up hats and necklaces having parades around the house with her musical instruments. When we were getting ready for church, Lucy insisted she wanted to wear a fancy hat (which probably was an old lady's church hat in another life) and some mardi gras beads. We let her (though we drew the line at letting her take her tamborine--we are Methodists, after all). She was adorable and got quite a lot of attention, particularly when she decided to proudly march up to the front for the children's time. Said hat (minus the coordinating flower headband) is shown in this picture.

Our spunky girl, you make the rockin' world go round...

Well, I can't wait to get that little girl in my arms. Also looking forward to seeing you and Nathan. Safe travels on Wednesday.

Love the hat and beads. That is a perfect way to make Sunday mornings at home and church a little bit more sassy.

She's fantastic!
