Holiday fun
Dave and Susie started the holiday season off right by hosting Thanksgiving for both their families. They were very ambitious for their first time and everything was wonderful.
While we were in Minnesota, we spent lots of time with Grandma Shirley and also went to see the Christmas display at Macys (the store formerly known as Marshall Fields, which was formerly known as Daytons). It is always fantastic and this year the theme was "A Day in the Life of an Elf." Lucy had a great time watching the little animated elves getting out of bed, having breakfast, sorting mail, and making toys. She was excited about seeing Santa, we waited in line and talked all about the old guy and how she would sit on his lap and tell him what she wants for Christmas. Uh, no. Turns out, he's still a bit creepy. She screamed bloody murder at the first glimpse of him. We may try once more in a week or two, or we may just call it good and wait until next year. This last pic shows Lucy's face full of Christmas wonder at the elves display. And Nathan's face full of Christmas...what? Not sure, but it doesn't look like wonder.

I am noticing Dad's gray hair in his beard! And how much older Lucy looks. Good grief!
We miss y'all.
Lori (coughing from our sickbed)
And everytime Lucy looked at the picture of her almost on Santa's lap when we were there last week she said she would sit on his lap when she is three!
Love,
Dad
