Is it Christmas Day?

Lucy
's been
asking us this question for about two weeks, and today it finally arrived. Last night we had a great Christmas Eve going to church and having dinner at Ruby's. Lucy stayed up too late and was a holy terror on Christmas Eve, so we had a little concern about how the day was going to go. Sheri was the first one awake (at 7:45) and Nathan and Sheri had time to have a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll and contemplated whether to wake up Lucy. She was very excited to find that Santa had come, and we had a great day full of toys and squeals of "ooooh! look!!" This year Lucy gal is the perfect combo of the ability to understand and anticipate a holiday with presents AND very easy to please. There were no naughty moments today, just a lot of fun for all three of us. She truly appreciated each gift and spent time admiring and playing with everything. One note on that last pic--we think it's hilarious. Lucy got some clothes and accessories for her baby, and she decided to put her to bed in a cardboard box. Then she put all 4 of her new balls in the bed with her baby, because she said, "I think my baby wants to have some balls." We hope it's a sign of things to come--Lucy is growing into a girl who loves pink and babies, but who also only had one request for Santa, that he bring her "some balls" and that they be wrapped in purple. The old guy delivered on both counts.
