Swinging
Grandma and Grandpa had a little surprise for us when we got to Minnesota this past weekend. Lucy called their front yard "the park" and wondered where the slide was. The only way to get her out of the swing so Gavin (now 8 months) could have a turn was to let her push.
It was a really nice visit to Minnesota. We met Angel and Gavin there and also Aunt Mari. We all got to spend some good time with Grandma Shirley, as well as Dave and Susie and (of course) Grandma and Grandpa.

Gavin is SO adorable and smiley and is rolling around everywhere. He's very observant and most enjoyed watching what Sojo and Lucy were doing. Besides all the great family visiting time, the highlight for Nathan and Sheri was a date to see a play and then go out to lunch. The play (
Wellstone!) was based on the life and career of the late senator from Minnesota and was funny, touching, and inspiring. While we were gone, Angel and Grandma took the kids and Sojo for a walk.
Lucy worked on sharing Grandma and Mama and Daddy with Gavin and there were a few teary, "I want my mama" moments when Sheri was holding him. But overall, she was really nice and gentle and sweet with him. The worst part is saying goodbye...we hate that part. Who knows what Gavin will be doing by the time we see him next? Sleeping through the night, we hope. : )

Those are some sweet and happy people in these photos! I'm so glad you all got together - and glad they loved that swing!
