Dreamgirl

Lucy woke up and called for mama at 4am (ouch). When Sheri staggered in, Lucy excitedly said, "Mama, I had a pony behind my eyes." After a confused moment, Sheri said, "Ohhhhhhh, that's called dreaming! You were having a dream about a pony. What was the pony doing?" "The pony was riding on a hill," she said. They rocked a bit and sang Nanny's pony song and were all back to sleep in just a few minutes.

This morning, Sheri asked her more about it, like whether she was riding the pony. Lucy said "no," but elaborated that "the pony was riding a bicycle on a hill." It's the first time Lucy has ever been aware enough of a dream to talk about it. We talked about how dreams can be silly and anything funny can happen in a dream. It was one of those moments... wouldn't it be nice if all her dreams would be so happy.

Nanny's pony song obviously had an effect on her. May all her dreams be so positive!

What a great episode in Lucy's life! I remember when Andy was her age he thought we had the same dreams as he did and would talk about "that dream we had last night"

Cool! Julie
