Happy 4th of July from Lucy's house to yours...

Lucy got one more birthday surprise from Mama and Daddy this weekend. Godmamas were here and watched the girl while Nathan and Sheri (mostly Nathan) set up the playhouse in the backyard. When we brought her outside and she saw it, her eyes lit up and she shrieked, "a house!" as she ran toward it.

Next weekend we plan to help Lucy improve the curb appeal by creating a patio and doing a little landscaping around the cottage. Maybe we can get Lucy to lay down some new sod or something...

Here's a little video quiz--the voices of Sheri and Lori and Boo are all on the video. Can you guess who is who? (hint: Lori is taking the video) Besides having fun playing in the backyard with the playhouse, Lucy got in lots of good playing and snuggling with Godmamas and went to the park a couple of times. She also got them hooked on Raffi and persuaded everyone to stand up and dance several times. Thanks to Godmama Lori for taking all the great pictures (which is how she ended up not being in any of them).
As an added bonus, Sheri and Nathan got to spend several hours working on our neglected yard while Boo & Lori played with Lucy. We also had some downtime, part of which was spent in scientific studies of the weight limit of our hammock and determining how many Dads for Obama can fit in the playhouse (answer=1, McCain Dads don't fit).














No fireworks for the girl this year (though Sheri & Lori went to them), maybe by next year she will have outgrown her aversion to loud noises. Even so, all of us had lots of good old fashioned American fun. Hostess Lucy says, "come on over anytime!"
