Girl's got her groove back...

Lucy and parents got together for pizza with Ruby and her parents on Saturday night. Despite the face plant rug burn on her nose (which seems such a delightfully normal toddler thing to be dealing with), Lucy's doing great. As you can see in the above photo, she is enjoying her carefree, IV-free lifestyle in Ruby's shades.

This weekend we've had an ice storm and a little snow. In both cases travel was fine by midmorning, but the SM3 enjoyed some cozy times working on the tree. A few of Mama's attempts at arty picture taking are shown here. We went to church for the first time since before Lucy got sick, and people there were glad to see her! They were planning to bring us a poinsettia today, but we surprised folks by being out and about. They still let us take home the poinsettia, though. : )

Lucy already knows that Santa says "ho ho ho" and can say "snowman" (though she acts a little scared of the ones hanging on our tree for some reason). And the cutest thing she says is "pretty lights" (which sounds like "pity yites"), and then she starts naming colors. She's just working on colors--she knows the words and sometimes gets the right word with the right color (maybe 50/50). Our favorites to hear her say are "yeyow" and "geen." The Christmas spirit meter is off the charts at our house this year...hope that's true for yours.

I am inspired to get in touch with my own version of Christmas spirit. Thanks for helping me remember.

Love to you all!

I see the Christmas spirit includes Lucy's "Rudolph nose." Nice!

I have to say - reading about the merry cheer in your home makes our Christmas that much sweeter.

I can't wait to see how she reacts to the Minnesota Christmas tradition (think really cold!)

We do have a few surprises that only loving grandparents would think of.
