Despite the scary growls on their faces, the Lucy Monster family had the most thankful Thanksgiving ever. It was a nice, relaxing day. We all enjoyed playing with Lucy, everyone cooked something, and we all ate plenty. Lucy said "no" to mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, and all desserts...but "yes yes yes" to Turkey, broccoli, rolls, and creamed corn.
Here, Auntie Susie initiates Lucy into the post Thanksgiving shopping planning process.

We are thankful for Lucy's health and sweet spirit, for friends and family, for newliweds Susie and Dave, for Grandma and Grandpa living close enough to visit often, for Angel and Russ' baby Gavin on the way in about 6 weeks, for all the doctors and nurses who helped Lucy and other sick kids, for good jobs with flexibility and health insurance, and for all the people around the world praying for our little girl. We are blessed indeed. In an attempt to get Lucy involved in the pre-meal blessing, after everyone else had prayed Mama turned to Lucy and said, "we're all saying what makes us happy. What makes you happy, Lucy?" Her answer? "Crackers."

We are also so very thankful for your wonderful family. Happy Thanksgiving, indeed-ee! Julie
We had the most wonderful four days that anyone could imagine!
Fun with Sheri, Nathan and Lucy, and David and Susie; great food on Thanksgiving day, including Tofurkey and gravy for David and traditonal thanksgiving dinner for the rest of us.
A visit to the railroad museum on Friday was great fun as was the trip on Saturday to the Zoo. It is only fitting that we do what Lucy likes to do and I think we had that surrounded!
We have so many things to be thankful for but Lucy's amazing recovery is at the top of my list with a close second a big hug and kiss for Grandma and Bapa before we left today.
Love,
Grandpa(Bapa)
Now that is truly the spirit of Thanksgiving. Well done....
Love,
Alison, Jerry, & Nellie
that's a fabulous lucy-monster family picture! not sure i've ever seen bigger smiles! and, i'm very glad to know that, among the many options that the world offers, crackers are what makes lucy happy.
