Fun with cousins!

Lucy has had a really fun week with a visit from her cousins Katie and Andy Weitz (and their mom, Sheri's Aunt Julie). In this first picture, Lucy enjoys showing her cousins around at the zoo--next to Lucy's living room, it's the premiere tourist destination of Omaha.



The cousins and auntie have held her, helped give her baths, assisted with diaper changes, and worked to get her in a better mood when she cries. Lucy enjoyed having kids to play with (her first kids who were overnight visitors), and also enjoyed the presents they brought (including the purple dress that Katie picked out).

When Lucy fusses, one of the best techniques to calm her down is to hold her and dance around to what we have dubbed the emergency song. . .a snappy little number called "Little Babies Like to Suck on their Toes" from a CD that Chad made her. She LOVES this song and it works like magic to calm fussing. Cousin Andy demonstrates that even 5th graders like to suck on their toes.


All three cousins are on top of the world here. . .


At 5 1/2 weeks, Lucy has had a few more developments. She held on to a toy (and even put it in her mouth) for the first time this week. And even more exciting, she has slept 6 and 7 hours in a row for the past few nights. Her parents feel like new people with all that sleep and hope that this is the beginning of a new pattern and not just a fluke!
