NANNY!!

It has been a great week in Lucyland. After 7 long weeks and 1 day, Lucy finally got to meet Nathan's mom, "Nanny" M**. The pair adjusted to each other pretty quickly, as seen in this shot taken approximately 1.5 minutes after Nanny arrived at the house from the airport. This scene was repeated multiple times from Thursday through Monday, with only the outfits and times of day changing. . .
Below is a little demonstration of Nanny Magic. As you can see, the story starts with Lucy screaming her fool head off about something or other. Having raised 4 boys, 9 older grandchildren (Lucy is #10!), and countless nieces, nephews, grandnephews, cousins, neighbors, etc. (you get the picture), Nanny jumped into action. Deducing that the trouble was gas, Nanny got to work straightaway to alleviate the problem. As you can see, she had many tricks up her sleeve:

Powerless against the Nanny Magic, Lucy finally surrenders to her charms:

In addition to helping gas to be passed, Nanny also got out of the house a bit to enjoy Omaha. A highlight was a lovely sunset walk on the Missouri riverfront. What's in Nathan's backpack, you might ask. Books? Some cold beverages for the walkers? Perhaps a nice picnic dinner for his mother? Nope--it's the diaper bag. My, how life has changed.
Nanny is now on her way back to Mobile, but we hope to get her back to Omaha really soon. The summer has been too short, with school starting on Wednesday, Lucy's 8 week birthday. More later on our first week as a dual-career family with a baby in childcare. . .

Nanny has the touch. Maybe you could get her to stay a little longer. Everyone could use a little Nanny Magic. When can she visit our house!

Cute pictures of Lucy and her Nanny Morgan. They look like to peas in a pod.
