We only had about 24 hours in Yellowstone, and we made the most of it. Within 5 or 10 minutes of entering the park, we noticed people pulled over to look at something. It was A BEAR! My camera wasn't handy (I didn't expect to see a bear so soon!), and Lucy didn't want me to open my door to get it. Ditto for the bison we saw on the side of the road just a few miles later. So you'll just have to trust us. We saw 'em.
We checked out the mudpots, Old Faithful, had 2 picnics, threw rocks into Lake Yellowstone, hiked a little, enjoyed countless scenic turnoffs, and just had a great time.
After driving through the Grand Tetons and Jackson, we wound up tired and hungry on the doorstep of Grandma Nola and Grandpa George (which is a great doorstep to land on if you are tired and hungry!). Stay tuned for part 3.
