Fun with nature

Sheri's colleague brought Lucy a monarch caterpillar and some milkweed, and we had great fun watching as Shawn the caterpillar ate and ate and pooped and pooped and made his chrysalis (at which time, Lucy changed his name to Eli). It seemed like he stayed in there FOR.EV.ER!

Finally, after 13 days, the newly renamed Jasmine emerged! And...she didn't look so good. After leaving her alone to let her wings dry out, we found her lying on the floor of the cage. Sheri and Nathan aren't so confident that Jasmine is going to make it, but as far as Lucy knows she put Jasmine on a coneflower and she pumped her wings up and flew away happy.

That's our story and we're sticking to it!

Grandma thinks Jasmine/Eli/Sean is in a very happy place with all the beautiful flowers in your yard. What a lucky butterfly.
