Last week was a big week for our gal, as she moved upstairs a bit early to the "junior" (3-K) classroom at her Montessori school. She loves school, and has had such a great experience in the toddler room with her friends and teachers there. But she's turning 3 at the end of June, and she's ready for some new challenges. It's really strange for some of her classmates to be 18 month old baldies one day and 5 and 6 year old kindergartners the next! These first two pics are from the last day in the toddler room--Lucy with two of her teachers (Miss Ashley and Miss Septembre) and the other with some of her toddler room classmates:
1.5 weeks into the transition and she's doing great. It helps that it's a small school and she had already interacted with the juniors and teachers at least once a day on the playground, and that she moved up with 2 friends from the toddler room. These next pics are Lucy in front of her new locker and with her new teacher and friends on her first day in the junior room.
Nathan and Sheri are happy with her new environment, and glad that the transition seems to be going smoothly, though we're having the typical "our baby's growing up" feelings. During June, Sheri's picking Lucy up at noon each day (because as she told her physical therapist, "I wanted a little extra mama").

I'm so glad its going well!!
It is great to see that she is so happy moving up but a little sad to think that she is growing up.
Love,
Dad
