Today, Lucy insisted on wearing one of her fancy dress up hats to church again. She rarely wants to go up front for the children's moment, but today she marched up there with all the pride of an old lady in a church hat and sat in the middle of all the kids. We think it's the hat that gave her courage, because the last time she wore a fancy hat was the last time she went up front. She even remembered what Pastor Debra talked about and referred to it later. She was very good in church today.
We had communion and we all left humming and singing the "hosanna in the highest" song (is it called the sanctus? or the great thanksgiving? not sure). Anyway, as we were driving away and singing, Lucy asked, "is it Oh Susanna in the highest?" Nathan nearly had to pull over due to hysterical laughing. We'd love to hear the banjo version of that song...

i think it may well be the sanctus which may be a refrain in the great thanksgiving...but not knowing is what i get for going to baptisty div school!
Love the hat and the story!
Love,
the godmamas!
By the way, John Wesley's mother was Susanna...perhaps Lucy was having a "methodist moment."
Great story! Maybe she was thinking of Grandma Susanne?
