Lots of love

Daddy's birthday, Valentine's day, big snow, a playdate with "the other Lucy", grandma and grandpa visiting for the weekend...so much has happened since last we posted. Here's a recap:

Last weekend was Nathan's birthday. He and Lucy were both a bit under the weather, so we jettisoned our plans for a trip to Lawrence and threw together some birthday fun at home. The 60 degree weather helped...

Lucy's class had a fun valentine party on Friday morning, then closed early because we got our biggest snow of the year on Friday afternoon. The girl wore red ribbons to the party.
The next day, Lucy's friend, Lucy, came over for a playdate. The girls played outside with Daddy and Grandpa making snow angels, 2 snowtodders, and enjoying the "snow couch" that Grandpa made for them. Lucy S-M is wearing the white hat. The girls came inside for lunch and then some enthusiastic cookie decorating with Grandma.

Lucy S-M and Lucy L got along great, though the girls have some distinct personality differences as the following video demonstrates. Turn up your sound and experience for yourself how the right beat can bring people together:

For Valentine's Day, we had a nice dinner for 5 at home (see the first pic) and then Sheri and Nathan went out on a date while Grandma and Grandpa played with Lucy. And in the morning, Sheri and Nathan went to church alone, paid attention the whole time, and enjoyed not having to clean smashed cheerios off the pew when the service was over. A very nice weekend of celebrating love.
