SM3 hosted a party this weekend to celebrate Sheri being granted tenure and promotion at Creighton. We got the good news in mid March, but the party had to wait until the semester was over and nicer weather arrived. It hasn't totally sunk in yet that Sheri now has lifelong job security, but the party helped. It was great to have our Creighton friends over to celebrate, as well as some special out of town guests The cake was the highlight for most of us, and the only disappointment was that there was hardly any leftover. Sigh. Click on the pic if you want to read what's on the cake.

Everyone brought their lawn chairs and Lucy and Ruby got to eat outside at the new picnic table. Notice Grandpa and Godmama Boo relaxing in the background. The next morning, we heard a lot about "Lucy and Ruby eat dinner outside." BTW, though it looks like there were only a couple of party guests, there really were like 30 people here. It's just that the pictures of peoples' backs as they stood around in groups talking didn't turn out that great...

Nice weather opens up all sorts of new activities for backyard fun.

Lucy had fun with Godmama Boo's "tum tum inspections."
Grandma and Grandpa took Lucy to the park while Nathan and Sheri got ready for the party. Too bad they didn't have any fun...

Yay Sheri! Wish I was there. It is awesome to see your happy, smiley faces. Love you!

The Godmamas made it home in what were absolutely beautiful driving conditions. This is not always the case for the Lawrence - Omaha trail so we especially enjoyed the scenery . We also started listening to a book on tape by Vivian Stringer, who is the long time women's basketball coach at Rutgers. Except for a few drivers who didn't understand the whole passing lane concept, it was smooth sailing all the way.
Anyway, as evidenced by the pictures, it was a great party and a good time was had by all. Thanks so much for including us.
Much love.

Sue, that picture at the park is priceless. It was good to be with Grandma and Grandpa too.
Sheri, congratulations again. Tenure suits you--check out that pic! :)
What a fun time celebrating with Sheri, Nathan, Lucy, the Godmamas and many of Sheri's friends from Creighton! I wish the drive wasn't 6 hours or we would be there every weekend1
Love,
Dad/Grandpa
We are very happy for Sheri, we think that Creighton is as lucky to have her as a life long member of their family as we are to have her as a life long member of ours.
We look forward to your trip south this summer, much celebration is in order. Let us know your travel plans.
Kisses to Lucy.
Love,
Mel,Karen and family.
Sounds like we missed a great celebration!
Looks like little Lucy has developed impeccable posture (i.e. the picnic table photo)! Maybe she can teach her secrets to Uncle Dave.
Love, Uncle Dave and AUNT Susie
Sheri,
Congrats on getting tenure!! Lucy is sure looking the picture of health and Nathan is still looking good, too. :)
Thinking of your family and missing the Creighton family.
