Fuddy Duddy Lucy
Tonight we went to a pancake dinner and Mardi Gras party at church that featured a live band and dancing. Lucy sort of enjoyed the pancakes, though she was a bit too distracted to eat with all the activity around. She liked the beads and hats and confetti. We invited Ruby and her parents and expected the girls would enjoy dancing together. During the dinner and songs and skits, Lucy wanted to run around and we were looking forward to when the dancing would start, as she LOVES to dance. Finally the moment arrived. The band started playing, the lights went out, and the multicolored lights started pulsing. And Lucy said, "no!!!!!!" and started to cry. We tried to hold her and dance, show her the other kids having fun (including dancing machine Ruby), but she wasn't having any of it. Finally, mama and daddy took her out in the hall and Lucy said, "no like it music." Daddy said, "is it too loud?" Lucy replied, "no like it loud music. Lucy coat on." So we left. And ditched our friends who we had invited to our church function, because Ruby was having so much fun. Who knows, they just might be United Methodists by the end of the evening. We told Lucy on the way home that we're going to remember this when she's a teenager...

Perhaps this is the Godmama Boo influence?

Lucy and I should go clubbing sometime. Me no like it loud music either. We'd by home by 8. My kind of girl.
Tell me Lucy didn't have to flash anyone to earn her mardi gras beads.
Welcome to the unpredictable world of toddlerhood. Won't be the last time Lucy refuses to do something her parents thought she'd like! Glad you didn't make her suffer through it. Love, Grandma
Sherri, Nathan and Lucy,
Thank you so much for these peaks into the world of Lucy! It is such a kick to sit here in California and tune into the "Lucy show". It brightens my day and so glad to be checking into this blogg site! I find it fascinating that you can do this! What an improvement on the old fashioned baby books!!
Love, Julia
