The birthday fun continued Thursday night with a pizza dinner and another cupcake, the results of which are shown here. The plan was to eat dinner and then let her open her big present from mama and daddy, but we were obviously fools! The present had to wait and the bath got moved a little earlier--frosting makes great finger paint, and goes on especially nicely in the hair.
Here, a fresh and clean one year old enjoys her new truck while sporting her new Kansas Jayhawk pjs (thanks Godmamas!). It was interesting to try to ride it, but pushing it is WAY more fun.
Man, that girl can go FAST! Note to KU friends, you'll be glad to know that Lucy can now point to the jayhawk when asked, "where's your jayhawk?"
Today Mama and Lucy went to the zoo with her school, which was really fun. Lucy's been to the zoo several times, but the place is huge and she experienced several new things today. Above, Lucy rides the back of a tiger on her first merry-go-round trip! Below, she splashes in a fountain with Miss Janet and sits on a turtle. A good time was had by all and two hours later, Lucy's still sleeping it off.

happy birthday, lucy! how very exciting. i love the zoo too. we went to the chicago zoo a couple of weeks ago and rode the carousel also. ;)
