The middle part of our trip was a journey down memory lane to the place where Mama and Daddy met and lived the first 4 years of our married life together. This first pic is with our host, George, who is a History prof at UA and who was Sheri's first friend in Alabama. He also holds the distinction of being the only Tuscaloosa friend who has met both Lucy and Nellie, the daughter of mutual friends Jerry and Alison. Nellie was born 4 days before Lucy and they now all live in Eugene, Oregon. George was a gracious host and is an old pro with babies, having had experience with nieces and nephews. Thanks, George!!
This next one of Lucy and Nathan with Clifford the big red dog is taken at Kentuck art studios in Northport during our visit with Jeremy and Marysia and Ian. Ian shows Lucy the swings at his neighborhood park in the next pic. Hard to believe that Ian was younger than Lucy when we moved to Omaha and now he's 3 1/2!
Last, but not least, we were able to show Lucy off to some church friends. In the first one, Lucy shows Pat (of Pat and Annabel--beach house owners) how to use the cell phone. And the last picture is Lucy with our special friend, Margie. Margie is the UPC floral arranger and banana pudding maker extraordinaire.
UPC was a huge part of our life in Tuscaloosa and a big part of getting started as a couple (in fact, it's where we met). It was great getting to introduce our newest family member to our old church family. We miss them!
