Party girl
What a week we had! Auntie Angel flew from Utah on Tuesday and hung with us in Omaha (it was Sheri's spring break), then on Thursday all 4 of us roadtripped up to Minnesota for Dave and Susie's recipe shower on Friday night and Grandpa Al's 60th birthday bash on Saturday. Here are a few highlights for those who had to miss the fun...
Lucy gave lots of kisses to Grandpa Al at his birthday celebration, and throughout the weekend. She's willing to kiss other people, too, but Grandpa is definitely her favorite. She zeroes in on a cheek and then pounces enthusiastically with an open mouthed slobber/suck. Just like in the movies. : )
Lucy got to meet lots of family, including Great Grandpa George and Great Grandma Nola and Aunt Karen and Uncle Kirk and Aunt Michelle. She also got to hang with old favorites Auntie Mari, Auntie Angel, Uncle Dave, and Auntie Susie. And, of course, Grandma Susie and Grandpa Al and several of their friends. She wore dresses, stayed up late, and was the life of both parties. It's kind of hard to remember what social events were like without Lucy to entertain us all...

Lucy hangs with the bride to be at the shower and also gets some quality time with Auntie Angel. She's saying a new word "ah-da" that we think seems like it's maybe "Angel" or else "Auntie" but we're not completely sure what she means. It's distinct from Dada. She's also saying "Ba-ba" which seems to mean either "bye bye" or "grandpa." Hopefully we'll figure these out soon...

Like many a party girl, Lucy crashed on the trip home. Thanks for the new carseat, Grandma and Grandpa! It was much more comfortable than the old infant seat. Retiring that is just one more exciting and sort of sad sign that our little girl is growing up... Although she still prefers rolling, she also has started to do the "commando crawl" to scootch forward so it may not be long before she's doing the real thing on her hands and knees. Another highlight is that it was in the 70s earlier this week and she had her first ride on the slide at the park (Ruby helped).

This weekend, Lucy will be cheering on the Creighton Bluejays AND the Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA tourney. She's got diaper money on both to win the first round games...

I like the nose grab move...shows just how advanced Lucy is for her age.

And, Lucky Grandpa to be loved so well.

We can't wait to be there in person.

This week I am,
partner of the tenured one!
