Meet the Godparents

Back in September, we posted about Lucy's baptism and her Godmothers Boo & Lori and Godcousin Katie (scroll down to see those pics). Since Nebraska is a red state and does not officially recognize same-sex godparents, we thought it best to add a little diversity to Lucy's life by also asking a token straight couple to also fill the role of Godparents. Luckily, our dear friends Will and Laura from Birmingham, Alabama, were willing to take on this important duty. They flew through a wind and snow to get here for a long New Years weekend to bond with Lucy and begin their moral training. As you can see from the pics, Lucy stayed cozy inside and spent a lot of time in her PJs that weekend!

We actually DID get out of the house between naps and snowfalls a couple of times, with the highlight being a visit the Western Heritage Museum. Here's Daddy and Lucy trying out an old streetcar on display, which Lucy felt would be a more liberating and scenic way to get around town than strapped into a stupid carseat and being forced to ride backwards with only the Hyundai's backseat to look at:
