Lucy and mama made another 24 hour trip to KC to see college friends and hit the children's farmstead, this time without a rainout. Here's the whole adorable crew (sans 2 tween boys who passed on the idea of going to the children's farmstead with the kiddos).
Who could possibly have envisioned this back when we were 18?
The kids all had a great time feeding the goats. Lucy would giggle every time they nibbled out of her hand and kept begging for another quarter to get more goat food.
I'm positive I have posed for over 8000 pictures like this with Andy's mom, Meredith! It's so nice to see our kids having fun with each other.
Note Andy in the background behind Lucy on the pony ride. Pretty sure that Meredith and I have never had a picture of us like this. Probably never will, but you never know. Perhaps our annual Lake Weekend gathering will be at a dude ranch when we're all in our 80s... When we staggered out to our car all tired and sweaty from our fun morning, Lucy said, "I'm so glad we goed to Kansas City!" She also said, "I'm the luckiest girl in the world, because when we get home to Omaha, EMILY will be there!" Stay tuned for a post and some pics of our wonderful visit with Emily and family. What a busy and fun few days!
