Lucy slept in until 8 this morning, so by the time Nathan made pancakes and we had some lazy time and got dressed and out the door it was 10am! We called grandma on the way to our destination, and a pretty close paraphrase of this conversation was, "Hi Grandma, how are you doing today? We're going to the farmer's market to buy a lot of vegetables that we like. Okay? Bye."
It was opening day at the farmers' market and we three had a grand time. We bought bell pepper and heirloom tomato plants for Nathan to plant in his newly built raised bed, some geraniums for Sheri to plant in the window boxes, as well as some locally grown tomatoes and asparagus. We LOVE the farmers' market and have been looking forward to it all winter long. Even though our favorite lettuce grower ran out, the weather and the atmosphere did not disappoint--we saw several people we know, as well as a nice variety of dogs and musicians. Later we went to a birthday party for a little 1 year old friend from church and then came home and spent the evening playing and working in the backyard. All in all, a really nice day in our little city.

Glad you found some vegetables to eat! When I suggested Lucy buy some honey at the Farmer's Market, she told me "No, Grandma. I buy honey at the grocery store."
