Our girl has her own little sense of humor, and even when she's not trying she often cracks us up. Lately, she's into putting things on her head and calling them hats. Here's her buckethead look (accessorized with almost all her Easter stickers on her tummy):
This morning we skipped church and went to the park and took a nice long walk, then played on the playground. Lucy had a great time and was upset about leaving, but then as we put her in her stroller she said, "that's a good park."
On the way home from the park, we stopped to fill up the Suburu. Sheri told Lucy, "daddy's getting gas." Later, when we were having lunch, daddy burped and Lucy said, "daddy's getting gas." Okay, we eventually realized that this was a total coincidence and she was really just recalling the scene from about 30 minutes earlier, but we got a good laugh out of it anyway.
Nathan works 1-10pm Sundays and today when Lucy was down for a nap, I jumped in the shower. Unfortunately, Lucy took a shorter nap than usual. When I turned off the shower, I could hear, "out! Lucy out!" I dried off and hurried into Lucy's room in my birthday suit and said, "hi Lucy! Mama was taking a shower. Can you read a book in your crib while mama gets dressed?" Lucy looked me up and down and said, "mama needs to put socks on." So true, so true!
In this last pic, Lucy had been walking around with the bucket on her head for awhile, then she got creative. She picked up this hanger and said, "my barrette!"
Buckethead addendum: Lucy's got the bucket on her head again right now as I type. She put it on her head and said, "that cute!" Then she went and showed the cat, "look, Harper, showin Harper my bucket hat! Cute!" Then she giggled and seemed a little confused when Harper didn't crack up as well. She then tried with Sojo and got a growl. The pets aren't much of a peanut gallery. . .

We are laughing out loud!
Love the Godmamas.
Perhaps she needs a KU hat? We can make that happen!
The other one
She is a laugh a minute isn't she? Your mom said she hoped the picture of mom without socks would not be on the blog. Tell Lucy I like her barrette.
Love,
Dad
I LOVE the Buckethead Hat! And the Hangar Barrette- I think Lucy is going to be a trendsetter.
Love you, Auntie Angel
p.s. Sheri-did Lucy mean to put the socks on your feet, or somewhere else? :)
Lucy
That is the cutest Easter hat I've ever seen! And you look adorable in it! Love, Grandma
You are such a good writer, Sheri, and Lucy is a darling subjet for your writing!
Aunt Mari
I hadn't checked the site since your February entry and I was clearly missing a lot. I LOVE all you stories - she is not only adorable but clearly has a lot of personality. She might be funny enough for Lake Weekend :).
Love,
Julie
