SUMMER FUN

The past few weeks have been busy with several visitors, a trip to MN for Sheri's 20 year (?!?!?) high school reunion, ear tube surgery for Lucy, a couple of viruses for Lucy, and Sheri teaching an intense 3 week summer class. Finally, this weekend, every member of the SM3 household is healthy and we have been able to relax a bit and have some regular old weekend fun. Above is a pic of Lucy enjoying the Omaha farmer's market yesterday--check out the many bags of veggies she carried for us in her stroller! The other pics are a recap of summer fun Lucy has been having since we last posted:

One thing Lucy has discovered this summer is that swimming is awesome--no matter if it is in a fantastic neighborhood pool (above) or in the backyard (below). She also looks forward to "splash day" on fridays at school.

One of Sheri's and Nathan's favorite pastimes pre-Lucy was working in the garden. To say that this year the yard has been a bit neglected is a huge understatement. But every now and then when it's not too hot, Lucy is willing to hang in her wagon for awhile and play with a few toys while we work. It's kind of sad when an hour of yardwork is all it takes to make her parents happy...

Finally, a budding art-eest has been born this summer as Lucy has learned about fingerpainting. Yesterday Sheri put a glob of paint on the paper, and Lucy sat there doing the "more" sign until a glob of every color of paint had been added. Those creative types can be a bit temperamental, you know...

We're counting down the days until Uncle Dave and Aunt Susie's wedding--less than 2 weeks now! Lucy and Sheri have new dresses and new shoes. Nathan is resisting new anything, but the women in his life are still holding out hope... : )

Loved the pool picture! Complete with the beer bottle. Are you sure you have no time for yard work?

I love that the artist is already wearing hippie tie dye clothes--does she have a pair of birkenstocks?
