Last Getaway as a Twosome

The clock is ticking...only about 12 weeks to go before Lucy arrives! While we are really excited to meet her and to become a family of three, we also are feeling the end of our time as a family of two. So, before it got too late in the pregnancy, and since we had some frequent flyer plane tickets, and since the free place to stay with Sheri's brother in NYC is about to go away (when Dave moves back to Minnesota), and with Sheri's spring break coming just at the right time, the stars seemed aligned for last minute travel plans. We thought you might enjoy seeing a few choice shots of our trip and Sheri's preggo belly!

It was Nathan's first visit to NYC and Sheri hadn't been there in awhile, and the two of us had a fantastic time there together. Dave was a great host and tour guide, and we soaked up the sights, culture, and urban lifestyle. We took a few subways and cabs, but mostly walked our little legs off and in less than 4 days saw just about everything worth seeing south of about 75th St: Wall Street, the Stock Exchange, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, Little Italy, Soho, the Village, Washington Square Park, Union Square, Bryant Park, the New York Public Library, Empire State Building, Museum of Modern Art, St Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Times Square, Columbus Circle, Central Park...and points between!

Nathan's first glimpse of Times Square at night brought astonishment and feelings of "Gomer goes to the city" and another highlight for him was seeing Sam Waterston from Law and Order stroll by in Union Square. Sheri particularly loved going to the top of the Empire State building and felt great during the trip, but had to walk a little more slowly than most New Yorkers. Lucy kicked extra hard during take off and landings and especially seemed to enjoy the New York cuisine.

We're back in Omaha now, but still basking in the afterglow of a wonderful vacation. We were grateful to be able to get away for the last time in awhile and even bought Lucy an I Love NY onesie as a memento of HER trip.

Sounds like y'all had a great trip!! I'm so envious of Lucy. I haven't been to NYC in too long, and I'd love to be carried while someone else walked everywhere for me. :)
